Craniosacral Therapy

IMAG0250

Quick Info:

Craniosacral massage therapy works by assisting the body's natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress and strain on the central nervous system( c.n.s).  The craniosacral system, which maintains the enviroment in which the c.n.s. functions, consists of: the bones of the skull and spine; brain and spinal cord; the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord; the membranes that enclose the brain, spinal cord, and cerebrospinal fluid.  Any disfuntion or imbalance in this crainiosacral system can lead to motor, sensory and neurological disabilities.   In this system there is a rhythmical motion created by the rise and fall of cerebrospinal fluid pressure( this subtle rhythm varies from 6 to 10 cycles per minute).  It is this wave like motion that I will be monitoring at key points of the body in order to find the source of the obstruction.  Then using very soft directional pressures on the face, skull and spine, I will begin a rhythmical unwinding process that leads to the bones releasing and floating free.
